Yakov Andreevich PLYAYS, DSc (political sciences), DSc (history), professor, full member of the Academy of Political Sciences, head of the chair of politology of the Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation, professor of the school of economics of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, deputy chairman of the expert council of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles (political sciences), member of the board of the Russian Association of Political Sciences, member of two academic degree commissions at the Moscow State Lomonosov University, member of the editorial boards of the reviews: “POLIS” (since 1999), “Power” (since 2001), “World and Politics”, “Obosrevatel - Observer”.

He has been awarded by the Badge of Honor medal.

Principal topics of academic interest are: political sciences in Russia; national history; international relations and Russia’ foreign policy; issues of parliamentarism; party systems.

He has been working for more than 30 years in the areas of academic research and education.

He is the author of over 300 academic publications and has participated in various international conferences on social-political and foreign policy topics. He is one of the authors of the first Russian text book “Politology” for the students studying economy (Moscow, Infra-M publishing house, 2008).
