This is an article about political science methodology. The author examines interlinks of political science with other areas of knowledge and determines the methodology’s essence and substance of the idea. He studies the structure of methodology, its types and levels. The author thoroughly analyses the structural parts of political science methodology. He singles out and reveals theoretical and applied level of political science research. He examines paradigms of contemporary political science.

EFFECTS OF THE ELECTIONS INSTITUTE ON THE FORMATION OF THE REGIONAL LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLIES INSTITUTE

The author defines the Elections Institution and describes it in detail. There are considered the types of elections and their importance for the development of society. There are considered the interconnection of Electoral Institute and the Regional Legislative Assemblies Institute in the Russian Federation. There are described the common forms of elections fraud. Author gives a legal assessment to the actions of elections swindler. Author makes an attempt to analyze rigged elections by means of statistical analysis. He makes the analysis of the election in 27 regional legislatures on December 4, 2011, which were held simultaneously with elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Author make the graphs, which are based on voter turnout and voting in favor of the party in power. There are conclusions about the relationships identified.

The article is devoted to the revelation of the images of politicians sought by public conscience of Russians by taking the Ryazan Region (a typical region in Central Russia) as an example on the basis of studying the details of the gubernatorial election campaigns in the region in 1996 and 2004 which show an unbiased picture of factual preferences in real figures.

ENTITY STRUCTURE TRANSFORMATION IN POST-SOVIET RUSSIA

The article says that the upgrading of the Russian Federation's entity structure should not exclusively come down to the unification of entities and the admission of new entities. Historical experience shows that our country's federation structure has been changed by applying several methods, including integration, dividing, making territorial concessions and joining voluntarily to the federation. Contemporary politicians should realize this and take into account this experience.

POLITICAL PROCESS IN THE NORTH CAUCASUS: PROBLEMS AND CONTRADICTIONS

The Article looks at the reasons that cause crises in post-Soviet period. The author provides a general insight into state construction experience in regions across Russia, reflects on theoretical issues related to federative development and identifies the problems and suggests options to address them. The ultimate goal of national policy is to build a society which would meet in due time and in full the needs of both the individual and the ethnic group, or the needs of all people living on the country's territory without encroaching on the legitimate interests of other individuals or ethnic groups and without triggering tension or conflict. Hitting this target requires certain conditions and mechanisms to reproduce national and ethnic traditions in diversity while preserving and enhancing the tradition of equal development and cooperation among nations.

LEGAL STATUS OF UKRAINE AS A MEMBER OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE (ON THE ISSUE OF THE USSR DISSOLUTION)

Basing on the study of historical and modern literature on the struggle of the Ukrainian people for independence from Rech Pospolita and the process of its admission to the Russian Empire and analysis of legal sources, the author proves a point that the Ukrainian nation achieved its right for independent statehood through much "suffering", in formation of which (statehood) there is a great role of Russia.
